Day 6: Port Arthur

Well today was certainly diverse or maybe I should just call interesting. Well it started out with the biggest breakfast I had had in a while. I ate bacon, sausages, 6 hash-browns, cups and cups of juice, fruit and mini cakes bleh! I didn't even feel sick. After that we headed off to a relative's house where I was greeted by a very loud Lily the dog. When we finally established where we were going ( Port Arthur) we headed off. First we stopped at the Pirate Bay then the tessellating rocks then the blowhole after that we visited the arch then we finally arrived at Port Arthur. After we paid the admission fee (which was reasonable) we had lunch. I ordered a chunky beef pie (what did you expect) which was delicious and chunky then we started a walking tour. It was very factual and the tour guide had a unique (good unique not bad) way of telling the facts that got me interested in the history of the convicts. After the walking tour we headed to the dock so that we could ride a boat in the bay and learn some more facts about the penal colony since we paid a bit extra we got to see the Isle of the Dead which was the colony cemetery and believed to be the final resting place for 1100 -1800 people, convicts to free settlers. Unsure exactly how many. It was quite interesting hearing how different people died, some were quite interesting others were gruesome. When we finished the Isle of Dead we hopped on the next boat and headed back the the mainland and did some more exploring we looked at the commandant's house (it was huge) the watch tower, police station, the flour mill and many other amazing buildings after that we hit the gift shop and bought an interesting book. The we hopped in the car and headed back to Hobart. We got some tea it was a 45 minute wait for pizza but it gave me time to write when it arrived it was quite yummy. When we got back again I fell straight asleep. Jacqueline out.

Day four of the adventure

Woo hoo! I got a sleep in! I got a sleep! I slept for about 11 hours and I needed it. I massaged my skin with my skin moisturizer so I feel good. Because of the success of it I want to go back to Lush and buy some more products. We went into a Dymocks and it was HUGE so amazing I could have lived there literally because there was even a Dymocks cafe. We then went into Victorian hobbies and barely managed to drag dad out, I barely managed to even drag me out because the shop wasn't all planes and car there was also anime, mini Lego, remote control helicopters and planes and figurines. It was amazing. We then felt a bit peckish so we went to Krispy Kreme and got some donuts we ordered a cookies and creme, a Christmas tree, a Christmas pudding and a mud cake. When we had finished our delicious donuts (which didn't take long) we hopped on a tram and headed to the Melbourne gaol. We saw the death mask of Ned Kelly and many other executed prisoners death masks. We even saw where people were executed (Charlotte freaked) then we hit the souvenir shop to kill time while we waited for a tour of the police watch house where we bought several gifts and I bought an 'old' key with a special plaque on it. By this time it was about 10 to 1 so we headed over to the watch house where we were greeted by Sargent Raining and we were split into males and females. We were then given our details I was an arsonist who endangered life, then we were 'searched'. We entered a cell then as we sat down the door closed and the lights were turned out. We stayed in there for a few minutes, then we were let out to finish our tour. We hoped on another tram and went to Harbor Town. We then loaded up on clothes, I also bought a cool flip clock. That's pretty the highlights except that I bought 4 puzzles (yay). Jacqueline out.

Day 3!!!

This I must admit has been the best of the trip ( not because there was no driving :) ) because we went to heaps of cool shops, like typo, factorie , all books for less, lush, Victoria's markets, mind games and femme connection ( don't worry I'm not turning girly). I bought two writing books ( for school), an ipod case, two puzzles and a skin moisturizer. I still have $90 ( amazing right). We were going to go to the zoo but it looked overcast so we didn't. Today was a rating of b. I can't wait for tomorrow especially in this amazing city. Jacqueline out.

Melbourne

We made it! We actually made. i lived against the odds surviving 8 long hours travelling, right hand hook turns, trams, parking and reception. So we took a tram to Harbor Town and we saw a cow not just any cow but a giant, box shaped and fibre glass cow. Oh yea and it was suspended in a tree, upside down .  We headed into Harbor Town and walked around a bit. i bought a book and by then everything was closing so we headed away to find dinner. Dinner was in an Italian restaurant  (I had fish and chips yum) along  the boardwalk near Harbor Town at about 6.30-6.45(Victoria is 1 hour ahead of Qld) and it was still bright. Only at about 8.30 that the sun started setting while we ordered crepes form an authentic French cart then we watched a light show projected onto the front of the town hall. It was an alround good day. Jacqueline out.
